How to reset (learn or pair) the remote transmitter to the receiver in the VEI (vented) and EI (vent-free) Electronic Control Systems. The Reset button is located on the Receiver/Module under the unit on the far left side of all VEI and EI systems. It can be found on the side that faces the left wall of the firebox, close to where the wire from the Battery Box gets connected. 
Using the point of a pen or paperclip, depress the Reset button. There will be a quick beep, followed by a long beep, then release the button. Then press the Small Flame button on the Transmitter (Remote), once, then release. 
There should then be two confirming beeps. It is now reset (paired) and you should be able to properly operate the unit.
