Q: Do you have a blower for either your vented or vent-free gas logs?  Can I use a blower with gas log sets?

A: Rasmussen neither manufactures (we never have) nor do we have certified a blower that resides in the fireplace for any of our gas log sets. A blower can interrupt the combustion process and cause soot to be produced, which is then blown into the room. We do not recommend the use of a blower with any of our sets.

Fireplaces with heat exchangers that have the fan outside of the fireplace are fine.  In this case, the flame from the gas logs heats up the firebox, and the blower moves air through a jacket that surrounds the fireplace.  There is no direct influence on the gas log burner or flame.
