First, be sure to push and hold the knob down to allow gas flow.  Then, push igniter button to ignite the gas at the rear infrared burner.  Once it is lit, continue to hold the knob down for approx. 30-60 seconds and release.  If the burner does not remain lit allow gas to dissipate (approx. 3 minutes), then repeat.  The heat from the burner will energize the thermocouple to keep the valve open.

If the burner does not light or does not remain lit once the knob is released, it may be that the valve shaft is not fully engaging in the valve.  Allow gas to dissipate (approx. 3 minutes), turn knob into on/high position, remove the knob, fully depress the valve stem with your finger and push the igniter button.  Once lit, allow approx. 30-60 seconds and release the valve stem.  If the burner remains lit then you will need a D Ring spacer so that the knob will not bottom out on the front control panel and the valve stem will fully engage.  Please request a "D Ring Spacer" via email to: info@rasmussen.biz
